Baron Philippe De Rothschild
In 1850, Baron Nathaniel, one of the sons of Baron Nathan, founder of the English branch, decided to settle in Paris. Entertaining the leading personalities of his day, he wanted to be able to serve them his own wine. In 1853, he bought Chateau Brane Mouton, an estate at Pauillac in the heart of Medoc and decided to give it his own name, so it became Chateau Mouton Rothschild
